The “5 P” Plan for Making the Most of Your (Formal) Time
Structure your “formal” time incorporating the following “P’s,” using them or not on an as-needed basis.
Prayer—Pray each week as a part of your time together. Pray for family, friends, and neighbors; labor in prayer over decisions and problems. Keep a running list of prayer requests and answered prayer; update each week.
Problems—As they encounter problems, help them learn to grow in faith and to seek God’s counsel.
People—Hold each other accountable for taking initiative with people (e.g., initiative in reconciliation, conflict resolution, evangelism, etc.)
Personal—Your disciple will have personal needs and goals beyond those typically classified as “spiritual growth.” Learn to tune into the whole person and help him/her discover God’s grace and utilize personal resources.
Project—Share insights each of you have gleaned from your Quiet Times or Bible Study. Discuss subjects, contents, questions, etc., generated by other studies or involvements.
